i. Sandy Lane shops

People used to say (including my parents) "You could buy anything you needed from up t' lane, you never needed to go anywhere else!" and when you look at the shops listed here it isn't surprising they said that, also young one's (then) also said that when they walked up and down it on a Saturday night that "You felt that you'd done something", probably because it was busy with lots of people around what with the cinemas, pubs, chip shops etc.

People who have seen my previous list of shops will find this is now reversed, go to the bottom of the table and "Walk" up Sandy Lane and the list will show you what you passed on the left and on the right.
Please click on any links to see a view of that link which now opens in its own window and can be closed individually. Also have a look at the "Then and Now" book to see how they compare to now.

I've tried to list everything so the shops listed are not from any particular year but I've tried to list what shops became as the years passed.
If there are any I've missed or any mistakes then please email me.
