Then and Now - The Town Hall
By Dave Ackerley
The Town Hall was situated at the bottom of Sandy Lane and served the community from there as the Council does now. It had a facelift in the seventies (I think) with a smooth plaster exterior painted yellow and a clock mounted high up in the centre, and was finally demolished in the eighties after (I presume) subsidence with the front of the building being shored up for a while.
