Mission statement

To preserve and promote Skelmersdale's farming and coal mining heritage and exhibit all aspects of local history at various points around the town, particularly to the younger generation and the influx of new residents since the town's major development.

Family Tree

Would you like some help tracing your family tree? If so, we’ve got just the service for you.

Julie Thompson, who has traced her own family tree back to the 1700s, has access to census records, births, marriages and deaths (BMD) information, family history and local web sites and has offered to help users of the the Skelmersdale Heritage Society web site trace their family tree back.
