In the 1960s, Skelmersdale New Town Development Corporation undertook and survey of all the old buildings deemed to have architectural of historical interest in the new town development area.
The purpose was to see which buildings should be retained and which should be knocked down
Here, we have reproduced the document which decided the fate of many of Skem's fine old buildings, including Sephton Hall, the Fox & Goose, Crow Orchard Farm and many others.
