Allison Arms pub, Sherratt Street The house on the right remains but the Allison Arms has long gone. In its place are the Uppingham flats
Barton's Farm, Wigan Road The land which once housed Barton's is now home to Scanachrome, Glebe Road, Gillibrands
Chapel House Inn, Church Road Not much boozing has been done on the old site of The Chapel House Inn since the 1960s, when it was replaced by Trinity Primary School

Digmoor Methodist Church and Chapel, Daniels Lane The chapel is still at the back of the church, but is largely obscured by the house built since our original picture was taken
T & W Garner, Witham Road Still going strong all these years later...
Outside the Grimshaw Lane Inn, Ormskirk Road, Digmoor One of the few places which remains intact more than a century later...
Junction of Hutton Road and Sherratt Street (Allison Arms pub on right) The pavement is the only thing which seems to have remained intact... the Allison Arms was bulldozed to make way for the Uppingham flats
Iddon Road, Old Skelmersdale Iddon Road was demolished in the 1960s and replaced by the Uppingham flats, which run along the back of Witham Road down towards Hutton Road
Penny Street, Pennylands Penny Street was one of the first old streets to be knocked down. Today, it is home to the Whitestocks estate
Plough Inn, corner of Sandy Lane and Peel Street Peel Street, and the Plough Inn, made way for Sandy Lane Health Centre
Sephton's Hall, Tawd Road, Tanhouse

Today, the land which once housed Sephton's Hall is the border between Tawd Road and Elmstead

Skelmersdale Co-op, corner of Sandy Lane and Elson Road Elson Road was demolished in the 1960s and replaced by Sandy Lane Shopping Centre. The site of the Co-op is now a video shop, as seen here on the left
Spencers Lane/Daniels Lane junction and the Bowling Green Inn

The Bowling Green pub, along with its connection with Daniels Lane, has long gone and the site is now the junction of Abbeystead, Little Digmoor, and the ring road. Spencers Lane is behind the one-way sign
The Tawd Bridge Inn, Ormskirk Road, Digmoor The junction with Spencers Lane remains on the right, but the Tawd Bridge Inn and the old terraces are long gone
The George pub, High Street The George Inn was replaced by the Whitestocks estate
Valentine's Farm, Wigan Road The land which once house Valentine's Farm is now the Royal Mail Sorting Office, Glebe Road, Gillibrands
Whiteledge Farm, Spencers Lane, Digmoor

Built in 1693, survived the bulldozers in the 1960s and still going strong. Today, Whiteledge is home to West Lancs Play Association
Wigan Road looking from the Fox and Goose The old stretch of Wigan Road has replaced by Hope Island - although you can still see the Telephone Exchange on the left
